HI, quick question, I have an 86 f 150 300 Straight 6. I have a leak somewhere around the bottom radiator hose/water pump connection. I have removed the hose and inspected it. After doing so I was a able to determine that it is not leaking at this connection, and that the hose is in great condition. The leak is coming from the water pump? Not 100% on that. My guess is that it is a gasket leak between the water pump and engine block. Is that possible? Are there any other possibilities? What is the solution? Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello, it is possible for the gasket to leak if the water pump was recently replaced, but if it has been on there for a while it probably isn't the gasket, in my experience. Most water pumps have a weep hole in the body of the pump where the pulley shaft is that will leak if the internal seal goes bad, then it needs replacing. Check the thermostat housing and the upper radiator hose as well as the heater hose. One of those could be leaking and running down to the water pump. I hope this helps, Tim.

This is my thought. It happened on my 150 a few years ago.
