everytime i drive my truck ill park it in the drive and awhile later i notice a puddle of antifreeze under my truck. there is a radiator hose that it drips off of. im wondering if this is my pump on the fritz or do i have a leak somewhere else? i tried to trace it up the radiator hose and its coming somewhere around the clamp any ideas fellas?
mine did sort of the same thing when it failed. The weep-hole is very hard to see, but that's what the prob was with mine. Wouldn't leak until the engine was off
I have the very same issue with my truck right now... I looked at it last night, it is dripping off the hose, but coming from the "neck" or flange that is bolted to the water pump. I checked the bolts, but they were tight. Does any one know the size or part number for the seal/o-ring under that flange?
i have the same problem and then I changed the water pump still leaked so then I changed the hoses, still leaking so I don't know what else it can be. Any ideas
If you are using the stock hose clamps replace them with SS clamps, the ones you can actually tighten. It seems as soon as you disturb the stock clamps they will never seal properly again. Roy
thanks everyone for the reponses i crawled under the truck and it does seem like its leaking from my lower neck and it only leaks when its off like Travis's does that mean its just my o-ring leaking on my lower neck?
Bob.....mine was the weep-hole. I guess the pump would bleed off the pressure thru it once the engine was shutoff. I replaced the water pump, and no leaks since. Hopefully yours is only the hose/O-ring
Where is this "weep hole" located?...other than on the water pump.....I'm pretty certin mine is only dripping when the truck is parked, as the coolant is only dripping down the hose, and not blown back on the engine...Is there any way to clear the weep hole?....without replacing the whole water pump?...K, thanks
The weep hole in on the bottom side of the pump housing, just behind the pulley.. The hole is just to let the coolant escape if the bearing goes bad and the coolant goes past the bearing seal.. The weep hole is not a repairable item.. If you are loosing coolant from the weep hole it is time to change the pump..
