Test drive with tunes
Showed up today with the Street Race Lite (SRL) and some other things
loaded. I let them know before it was shipped what flash program I had
in the truck.
One word for the SRL WOW
Truck was nice and warmed up and I went for a little test drive.
I did not know that Ford had derated the 6.0 that much. I also
watched the instantaneous MPG and so long as I keep my foot out
of it. The numbers looked good. So after driving for about 45 min.
I want and did the stomp test. Both tires loose in straight line from a stop.
Time for studs and keeping the foot out of it.

I felt the same way when I got my SRL from Matt, its like a whole new truck.
I wouldn't worry about the studs until they do blow, my truck has over 150k miles on original gaskets and bolts. No issues, probably due to the SRL keeping the boost in a safe range.
Also enjoy your new found MPGs, i get another 3-3.5 mpg highway with the SRL
SRL 8K and Unlimited.
$455.00
I will be filling up Monday and drive a few days and see what the MPGs are.

I forgot to post this. Truck had been running for at least an hour or
more and so was warm as you can see by the EOT and ECT (fwt)
I checked it a few times and it stayed at the nice 0

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
SCT "performance" tune is about 17 mpg.
But the Looney is a kick in the pants for sure.
Is the SRL as violent when turning off cruise control as the Looney?
Josh
Lovin every minute of it!!!
Different truck all together.
Benny, I found a good used SCT X2 for $175 on Craigs list. I don't need all the new fancy stuff. Just something to tune with. (Heck, I have most all the gauges covered) twice!!!
I'm really thinking about going with Eric's tune. He is saying that since a person has a tuned FICM (I have the Atlas 40) He can write a roll back tune. It can be an older flash for my 04 that was better than the one the truck received back in the day. Current flash is vxbc9nb. Power Hungry Performance says that was one of the worst for the 04's.
Cruse-control you say. I'll give it a try. I don't have the Looney package.
I did not even think about the CC on the freeway last night I was having
too much fun with my fat foot on the peddle. I need to do some RUNNING around
later so I'll do some more PLAYING. The guy I talked to at Gearhead said if
I got the Atlas 40 at this point I would get smoke. But the Email I did with
Matt some time ago did not say anything about the Atlas 40 and the SRL
becoming a smoker. I DON'T Want to ROLL COAL.
I will keep you all updated. I also sent an Email back to the guys at Gearhead to
let them know the package got to me and I liked it. I also sent them a link to this
posting. Maybe Matt will stop by.

I'm watching you... you're not helping me buy new tires by tempting me with a tuner.

The canned SCT tunes give a slight clunk when turning CC off, but certainly not the hard jerk (lol) that Looney does.
All stock and turning off CC (or pressing the brake pedal for that matter) is a smooth process.
