Hey, I have a question about my front end. I have had my 1998 Mazda B2500 truck since 2000 and this problem comes and goes (it's mostly been gone lately). Usually when it is cold outside. At slow speeds it creaks and squeaks - kinda embarassing - if I am sitting still it squeaks when I turn the steering wheel. Once the speed picks up you can't hear it. I have noticed this in other fords about the same year.
Anyway - hopefully some of ya'll have deciphered this issue.
They did not put grease fittings in them, so you cant grease them. But they are probably shot already. Mine had easy 3/16 of an inch of up down play in them when I changed mine. Its not real hard to do.
