Travis, What's the volt reading on the MAP (Baro volt) and EBP whe nyou get these pressure readin. Do you still remember them? I'm trying to determine if my sensors are bad or wiring issues or both. Thx

I bet that both of my EBP and MAP are out. However, for the sake of gaining knowledge, I have played with them a little bit tonight. While I was sucking and blowing harder and harder into a long tubing connected to the MAP sensor, I got the reading to go all the way down to 10 psi and all the way up to 15 psi. However, the red baro volt reading does NOT change. I can't make sense out of this.

Travis, allow me to bug you one more time. Was your baro volt reading of 4.74 in red like mine or not? Thx

It is red like yours. I am not saying mine is working properly either and am following this thread for any and all info.

Information it is: BARO is a sensor in the PCM for reference. It changes only with altitude and it stays clean. You need the BARO to tell the tuning you're climbing Pike's Peak, and your EBP/MAP tells the PCM your 5er is in tow... so the PCM decides you need a thinner mix.

I am curious, for those of us without AE, what are the voltage values to these sensors? Is it like a TPS with a 0-5v sweep? It would be nice to know what voltage value the 14.5 pressure on the sensors is.

All this talk got me thinking about my EBP sensor, so i checked it today, and found it also all stopped up tight (@130k). The only way i could get the sensor cleared was with a small piece of wire, and lots of time. The tube was only blocked off for about the first 3 inches. The whole project took about 1 1/2 hours ( not too bad , considering it's 20F outside today!).

Without the AE, is there any way to be sure i did not damage the diaphram during cleanout? I ran it, and no codes came up, and EBP worked fine, but this was no different than before the cleaning.

Edit: i see that voltages can be checked....i'll follow up on how to check this

Tugly, the table you linked to seems to co-relate to EBP, ie. 14.7 psi = 1.5V. However, the MAP seem to use a completely different pressure/volts co-relation. can someone (ford programmer, or former) figure it out for us?

I bought a new MAP sensore from Autozone (quickest way) today. hooked it up a few minutes ago. reading exactly as my old one: 12.4 psi, 4.57 V. EBP from Clay on Monday and see if a new EBP reads the same number as my MAP.

How much did that new MAP sensor cost?

$65 plus tax. Ordered in the morning and delivered to the store at 3:00 pm. It looks exactly like the stock minus the motorcraft sticker. The reason I was even considering a non-OEM part for this is that it's not ritical

Not a bad price. I'm thinking of trying another MAP. If I can't find one in friend's part box tomorrow then maybe auto part store. Tousley shows them as n/a but if they were available price would be $95.

Just got the new ebp from clay. Here is the reading:
KOEO
ebp 14.17 psi, 0.87v
Map. 12.7 psi, 4.53v

I guess that's as close as I can get without questioning the wiring and ECM.

Wow, the volt numbers are incredibly different from one another compared to the actual psi readings.
