Hello. Last week I purchased a 2008 Ford F350 Lariat 6.4L Diesel with 72,000 miles. Have heard nothing but horror stories since. Getting kind of worried. Can anyone relieve my new found stress? Also, looking for somekind of extended drive train (complete) insurance due to this. Any suggestions?
I would strongly suggest that if you do buy a extended plan, get it from Ford. Stay away from dealers that offers other companies that offer warranty. My many years experience.
Of course the bad stories are going to be the ones you hear or read about on forums it's where people go to look for guidance on repairs, not many will post when they are not having issues. This is a great site to learn from. Proper maintenance will help you learn more about your truck and help ensure trouble free miles.
The 6.4 is highly feared by many Chevy owners. The 6.4 has flaws like any engine, but is a force to be reconed with. Keep up on maintenance and have fun!
I agree with the statement on the extended drive train insurance
Stick with one from Ford
The others tend to try to get out of paying anyway that they can. They
have a lot of holes in there plans so that they can slip past you. In one
case from one member they just went bankrupt and he was screwed.
