warranty

Well, I am going to be out of warranty for the drivetrain any day. Only have a few hundred miles to the 100,000 miles (160,000 kms) and then it is gone.
Starting to sweat some bullets and thinking of getting a new one but not at that point just yet. This one is only 3 years and 3 months old. Well see if I can survive the nightmares I might start getting.

What year and model truck?
What issues have you seen in the 100K miles? Where you from and what kind of life has your truck had up to the 100K?

Thanks

So your almost at 100,000 miles......you might look on the internet and locate a Ford dealer and purchase a Ford Diesel Motor Warranty 13 major engine components. If you plan on keeping the truck for sometime.....this maybe of some help. My 2011 F250 Superduty had 120,000 miles when I sold it......but it had 2 remaining Ford warranties. As for issues after 100,000 miles I had none.....

Ford Diesel Motor Warranty 7 years / 200,000 miles 13 major engine components... . has to be purchased before 100,000 miles
This product can be purchased from a Ford Dealer using the internet.......I have done this several times....Last time July 2013

My truck is a 2011 F-250 diesel crew cab. Purchased December of 2010.
List price $76,000 plus and purchased for $59,001. Thrown in was the box liner, mud flaps, 4 rain deflectors, two diesel fill ups, two oil changes.

Issues - tranny for about the first year kept going to neutral between 2-3 shifts. Dangerous when trying to merge into traffic. Seemed to do it if the truck sat for a couple of hours after driving. After a few flashes it has not happened since. Also radio problem for several months. Dealer gave up after 5 or so inspections at the dealerships. Including a new radio and other things. Then the problem seemed to go away. Very unusual. Front hubs seized up and had to be replaced but luckily just under warranty. Otherwise a $900.00 bill. Left front washer sprayer rotted away so both were replaced but an easy fix. A few bulbs, perhaps 3 but that can be expected. Truck has not towed and is babied and well maintained. All oil changes and services are ahead of schedule This is my first Ford as I have been a Chevy guy for a number of years. I gave up on Dodge.

Not sure about purchasing an extended warranty now as I am sure it would be expensive and only if I had a major failure would it be worth it.

Still would be cheaper to buy the extension vs buying a new truck right?Thats what I would do.

If I were to keep my truck stock I would probably go with an extended warranty. Since I planned to delete my truck I cancelled mine.
