so guys heres a puzzleing one for you...my 1990 f250 7.5 wont turn over.
i get power to the gauges
if i jump the relay the starter turns over

i replaced the lock cylinder
battery tested good
played with the neutral safety switch
I cant get the dang b*tch to turn over.
ill turn the key and all i hear is a click under the dash board.
any suggestions guys?
Are you sure your actuator rod isn't broken? If you can get at that skinny rod that goes down to the ignition switch, I would push down hard on it, with the ignition switch on, and see what happens.
My actuater rod is good. I've manually depressed the ignition module and still no start. It's an automatic c6. I've tied starting it in neutral and I've dropped the column and visually inspected the rod.
Actually no the reverse flood lights only come on if I jiggle the shifter **** on the column..it had a "sweet spot" then they would come on. I'm on 24 hour shift so I'll try crossing the wires tomorow when I'm off. The red and blue wires are the ones on the NSS on the tranny right? Cross those then try to start it with the key?
By connecting them together you will confirm or eliminate the NSS as a possibility.
If you find the switch is loose or dirty then it should be simple to fix
