horn won't work

My horn pad is trashed so I removed it for the time being. I have cruise controll. Is the horn relay on the pass fender above the starter selenoid? Two yellow thicker wires with a smaller blue wire or where would it be with CC? I have 2 wire conectors in the wheel. One is a short piece of black wire with a female bullet conector and the other is just a flat spade. I jumped the spade to the center shaft and got nothing. I think the bullet conector was for the cruise. You dont realize how much you use the horn until you dont have one.

Do truck horns have a different tone than a car horn?
Right now my truck horn (not sure where I got it) sounds more high pitched than the original horns in my '69 mustang.

The horn in my '79 F100 sounds the exact same as the horn that was in my '77 LTD. The dual-horn setups have separate high and low horns; maybe you're running a single high horn.
