....... which is quite possible if you are indeed the original owner and haven't had it reflashed by either a dealer or someone with an IDS scan tool.

I ordered it personally in '02, before the first 6.0 ever hit the road, so at least I can't be blamed for buying one of those crappy 6 liters. They were still the best engine ever when I ordered mine! In the early days, we all refused to be RE flashed since it was obvious that Ford was just guessing. Are my numbers normal?

The numbers should be within 0.5 psi at KOEO, so you are probably close enough.

Anything to expect to change about the numbers while it actually having the turbo problem? Currently, it runs fine on cruise at highway speeds. It's just getting there that's a problem.

It is possible the EBP sensor could be off by more than the prescribed amount at higher values, but it most likely is fine. Sounds like maybe a turbo cleaning could help. has that ever been done?

Yes, about 3.5 years ago. I've got to believe it something he did or didn't do, since it was not a problem when I took it in, and I noticed the problem in the first 100 yds I drove it when I picked it up.

Both the MAP and EBP remain steady while the turbo is running through these cycles. Not sure what the deal is.

My mechanic has started watching my ScanGauge. He reports that when you push the truck hard, the MAP will go to 32. If you stay on it, it will drop to 1. Since KOEO is 14.4, I'm thinking that has some significance. Does it?

MAP should never drop below atmospheric pressure (14.4 for you it sounds like).

Hmmm...bad MAP sensor, or at least not hooked up right?

That is what I would say. Might look at all the wiring to rule out chaffing of the wire/harness.

Thanks. He's looking into that now. He now, at least, agrees that it is happening. I got one of those, "we drove it and no problems" calls. I told him how to make it do it, and got the "sorry, missed it" call later.

I spoke with Andrew from Bulletproof Diesel's own shop. He also recommended checking out the "2 tubes" we all discussed before. Additionally, he suggested doing a "VGT relearn" and even forwarded me an email on how to do it. That fixed it. Runs like a top now. Thanks to all for the help.
