So, I went to the stealership today and

... asked for a coolant recovery tank for my 01. Parts man asks "did you call in" answer no. Parts man replies " It is $115.00" I said "Ah' BS , it is $96 online" Then he asked "did you print it?" no but verified for availability at their location. So that is what he charged me, it was actually $96.50 or close. I guess I should have told him $50.

Ford sold me one (special order) for $80. Prices do vary. They don't call them "stealerships" for nothing.

MSRP is $96.45. Such a deal you got!

Tousley has them for $63.66. See:

I like Tousley. Bought my headlight modules from them and the price ended up being about 35% cheaper than what they had listed online. When I asked, it was apparently the difference between being a pure replacement part and being a body shop part (same part, different use, different price). At least they gave me the lower price.

Thanx for the tips. I had drained the coolant to address another issue and had no desire to pour it back in the leaky tank.

My point was if you have to go to the stealership make them at least give you the advertised price.

I used to just pay whatever the local stealership charged, thought they were all the same. After hanging out on FTE and doing a little research, I found out out they were charging 50% OVER MSRP!
Tousley, Riffraff and Guzzle have had all of my OEM business since.
