is there supposed to be stuff akin to Dow's Great Stuff behind the cargo light assembly? I pulled it out and behind there was that yellowish looking dried foam. Thinking previous owner/idiot put it there??
Correct bulb = 1076? Thinking yes, but my owner's manual has it wrong...
Thanks. On the bulb, the socket has two spring loaded terminals whereas a 1156 bulb has just one. I pushed & turned in an 1156 and it shorted the terminals and blew fuse. The 1076 'looks' right? And interestingly the owners manual calls for a 1156.

Is this on your 74, If the socket has two pronges in it, I would try the 1076 bulb.
Yes. On my 74. Apologies I didn't make it clear. My mfr date is 6/74. Not sure where the s/n is.
Sometimes you see parts and they say "Before or from ser" thats the last 6 in your vin. If your truck does take the 1076 bulb thats kinda weird since its listed as 73 only. Maybe someone broke that socket at some point and replaced it with one of the 2 pronge ones. The bulbs are basically the same except for the connectors.
Ah, yes. the candle power of both 1076 and 1156 is 32. Pretty bright! But to be sure, my truck is a 74, and nearly at the end of the manufacturing run for that year as well.
