1963 Econoline pickup

Hi. I was wondering if anyone might know of either a replacement steering wheel or steering wheel adapter kit? I would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks...Jon

If they don't have a new one, Maybe Bill, aka, (Numberdummy) will chime in with some info on used parts vendors.

There are a couple of them on eBay right now for around $100, which seems a little high for me.

Check with your local used auto yards. The big one near me sells all steering wheels for $10.

The 1961 to 1967 steering wheels are all interchangeable. I think the 1967 is a little different, like horn button or something.

Thanks, EmilBarnabas...I had purchased one of the OEM steering wheels from eBay, only to find that the spokes, where they connected to the base, were too thick (by about 1/2"). Could have ground them down...perhaps I should have but for $180, the wheel should fit I think!

LOOKING FOR STEERING WHEEL AND BOX

I have a 63 Econoline Truck. I am looking for a Steering Wheel, the nice one that had the chrome ring on the inside of the wheel and a steering box. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

C3UZ-3504-A (replaced C1UR-3504-A) .. Steering Gear Box - 1961/64 Econoline / Obsolete

C1UZ-3600-A229 .. 17" Black Steering Wheel - 1961/66 Econoline / Obsolete

C2UZ-3600-A .. 17" White Steering Wheel - 1962/66 Econoline / Obsolete

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any of these parts.

What's wrong with the steering gear box? NOS parts may be available for it.

The chrome ring you mention is the difference between the standard horn button and the deluxe horn button. The steering wheel is the same for both. The only difference in the steering wheels is black or white. The deluxe horn button with chrome ring could have come on either color wheel.

Steering Wheels from that period in good condition expensive ... go find a 68 to 73? old motorhome and yard out the steering wheel ... just change out the underside turn signal guts with the older econo ... you are better off getting your steering box rebuilt and the deluxe chrome horn buttons available re-chromed but not cheap in WA state
