I haven't posted in a while although I have been lurking wilst I work toward firing up the eternal 56 project. My problem is this, the pressure control for the AOD is a u-shaped lever that points up. Thinking that I would just call Lokar and order a cable I did just that and was told by their technical department that ALL AOD pressure control levers point down and their bracketry and cables only support that. My question then is who else has an AOD with an upward pointing lever and what did you use for a cable? I have another AOD sitting here and it also has the lever pointing up. By the way the header collectors will not allow a lever to point down.
Both levers are incapable of being in the same direction as they will hit. The lokar cables come with a new TV lever arm. It doesn't use the factory one. If you download the instructions of their website it shows that their cable can be mounted both ways.
Here is a link to the lokar AOD TV cable setup. My aod was out of a lincoln with column shift and the shift lever points up while in park and the TV lever will be pointing down. I'll have to set mine up like the "FIG 1" pic in the instructions.
you can come over and look at mine aod with lokar in a 55 i want to say that i think the instuctions said you could use it either way only changing whitch way the cable mounts from the rear of from the front i am in tucson northwest
