Valance panel under bumper

Does that valance panel do anything? It seems to hang down pretty low, I was interested in taking it off. I really dont want to cut notches in it for my plow mount. Can I get rid of it or not?? I removed them from my 99 and 2004 Super Duty's, this one is so much larger..??

It's to deflect air from becoming turbulent on the drive train. What vehicle are you talking about? You can take it off any vehicle. If you have a new superduty that is 4x4 look into getting a 2wd version. They are much smaller, but complete the look of the front end. The bumper looks a little naked without one IMO.
