Question Panel truck and Regular truck bumpers

Is there a difference between the rear bumpers original installed on a 1953-56 panel truck and a regular truck? I've heard yes and no but I don't see many panels around anymore. Also is there anyone who has the figures of how many 53,54,55 and 56 were produced?

Thanks

THe pickups used a straight bumper and panels were curved to the contour of the body.

The rear bumper on my 56 Panel also has an indented section in the center.
See picture 3 in Gracie album in my gallery

The panel bumpers curve around the sides a little, so are bigger.
I replaced my panel rear bumper with a stainless pickup bumper, and then modified the frame mounts some, so it sets a bit closer to the body.

I had never thought about the pickup bumper on a panel until I saw one that way in my area, and thought "wow, what did that guy to to his rear bumper? The truck looks lighter and less akward".....the pickup rear bumper makes it look less industrial/homely, and as we panelmaniacs know, anything one can do to dehomelyize a panel is a good thing!

I had to make sure the garage door was closed before I typed it!

I'm planning on replacing my rear bumper with one from an El Camino fits like it was made for it and gives a larger set of tailites to boot.
By the way I need to correct my post above, the rear bumper does not have an indented area in the center, just the front does.
