overhead dvd question

just bought a 2002 expedition and it has the overhead dvd player. the factory radio had been changed. i changed it back to a original ford unit that i had taken out of my 03 f-150 hoping that i would allow me to use the dvd. the radio has no buttons at all to operate any controls on the tv. does the expedition have a diffirent radio than the trucks? all of the ones that i have seen have been exactly the same. maybe i am missing something. thanks in advance.

Do you have a flip down screen over head that has a DVD player built into it or is the DVD player in the back of the truck?

The screen should have controls on it and but I dont think you can control the DVD player or screen itself straight from the head unit unless, of course, the head unit is a DVD player. If you have either one then you will need an RF modulator that will have a radio freq on it and you will need to program your radio to that freq and turn the switch to the modulator on so you can hear the sound over the speakers.
