steering shaft idea
I am looking at using a spicer 10270-5729 unwelded drive shaft kit and a 10-4-611sx splined yoke on the steering box and steering wheel. I am looking for feedback on this type of setup. I am not crazy about a borgeson because of the setsrew and jam nut idea. In my opion it is just not enough of a locking mechinism. The yokes I am looking at are bolted design for the releif in the two stub shafts.

My local driveline shop created this out of what remained of the original coupler type shaft. It cost about the same as the Borgeson but required no further modification. The ujoints are spicer as are the yokes and slip shaft. I think the long rod from the slip shaft to the rear yoke is original but I could be wrong; they may have completely fabricated this thing. Either way it rocks!
