To me, it is all about credibility. An occasional typo is one thing; "prolly" is ignorance or laziness. I know this statement may offend some posters, but it is the way I see it.
If you want your opinion heard/read, and given credence, then take the time to say/spell things correctly.
I hope I am not considered being "elitist" here. Just using high school grammar correctly, as I was taught and after having put forth the effort to learn.

FWIW "ignorant" means a lack of knowledge. It does not imply anything else even when its used incorrectly, to denote someone unwilling to learn or lazy!

Just as you might consider another to be ignorant or lazy from your own perspective and judgmental points of view another will perceive or judge you too, perhaps for reasons just as useless in an internet forum.

If we only give credence to a thought expressed to our own narrow opinions, one of which seems to be spelling/grammar then that's extremely short sighted and foolish, to me anyway. Yeah I like seeing perfect grammar but just because a post in these forums doesn't meet my own (imaginary) standard of what's correct being ignorant of expected grammar/spelling perfection in no way diminishes what's put forth or a question being asked.

I guess we can all be offended by being called out about our opinions on any one topic or subject---I completely understand that. However just as you will try judging others or make assumptions about others based upon minor concerns ON AN INTERNET FORUM you too are judged by those who don't agree or see things in a larger picture.

Again, imagine yourself asking for help and being mocked or embarrassed because you fail to meet some expectations you were unaware of---might help impart a bit of perspective!

Peace, out!
