PAYLOAD PACKAGE SELECTOR

Looking at Ford's SuperDuty Specs online, I see under Payload Package Selector, the F-350 SRW 4X4 shows eleven (11) different GVWR's in lbs. resulting in greater and greater Payload numbers.

GVWR's go from 10,000 to 11,500. Does anyone know what these differences represent and how they are achieved by Ford?

OH. I get it now. It is dependent on the cab style and wheelbase.

Sorry. Sometimes I just feel so stupid!

Sorry i didn't see your reply earlier. I was away from my PC.
I actually already have a 2011 F-250 Diesel Crew Cab 4x4 with a GVWR of 10,000. After I bought it at the end of 2010, I was a little sorry I didn't get the F-350 for the extra payload capacity. Not that I even need it, but for the extra $1000., it would have been worth just having it.

I pull a 2011 Keystone Cougar 318SAB 5th wheel. My truck has no trouble handling it. I'm just annoyed with myself for cheaping out trying to save a few bucks!!

Hello, I'am new to this site. I just saw your thread about the GVW, and was wondering this myself. This past Aug I bought a 2011 F350 SWR, I would like to know what would be the max I could load on the truck with a gooseneck trailer. Any help would be greatly appreicate, I'll be posting pictures of it this weekend of it.

If you open your driver's side door, look at the pillar. There is a sticker that says Tire and Loading Information.

One phrase on it says, "The combined weight of occupants and cargo should not exceed xxx lbs."

That includes your trailer's pin weight, fuel, occupants, hitch, everything.

Hope that helps.

Phil

Thank you, It does help. My sticker says 11500. I guess the next thing to do is head to the scales to weight the truck. Is there a limit on over all weight for the truck not exceed, or a good rule to follow? Example like a class A truck is 80000 for the highway unless you have the heavy duty axles,or more than just the 5 axles.

If you go to the SuperDuty & Heavy Duty section of this forum, the first post will lead you to all the specs on our trucks.

My 2011 F-250 has a 10,000 GVWR. When I purchased it in September, 2010, I was charged $604. for the title and 4-year registration.

Looking at NJ MVC online, it looks like a single year would be $71.50. Maybe i'm not looking at it right. I don't know. My registration says it expires Sept, 2014.

In Washington State we get bit every year for gross and tax.
I'll have to look at my reg. and see what mine is but I will
pay just under $120 and also have to have it smog checked.

At lease I am not in LA where they came up with an idea on taxing rain water.
Well it a runoff treatment tax. But you get the idea.
