I, I cleaned the turbo about 20,000 miles ago. 90% of that mileage was on highway. Turbo was going up to 25 to 26 PSI. Then I left the truck a week here and there parked without running. I cleaned the EGR and EBP.
Now the turbo will reach 28 PSI when pulling, but it does not hang to long in there.
No codes, no problems so far. Should I'd be thinking of cleaning the turbo again?
As far as I know 28 psi boost max while pulling a load is the design parameter. It's exactly what mine reaches, and no it doesn't stay there long, I take my foot out of it. I don't need to drag race towing 8K lbs up a hill
Ok, sounds good. I will keep the foot off a bit. Of course it is worst when I am on cruise control and pulling. I have a 5000 lbs truck camper and a 3000 lbs trailer.
I asked the question because I had problems before and the codes was overboost but my turbo was really dirty at that time and VGT was doing funny things.
