On one side my spades all tested 1.9 ohms. The other side all spades tested 0.1 ohms. Are all the glow plugs bad on that side? Seems strange for them to all test the same on that side. Any help would be greatly appreciated. First time diesel owner going through first winter here in the midwest. Truck is turning over strong but won't fire after I come out of an 8 hour workday in 30 degree temps. I plug in at night and it starts great in the morning. Also noticed it blows white smoke when trying to start at work. Was not sure if that was just because it is temps are cold or something else.
From my understanding anything under 2.0 ohms is ok for glow plugs. You're testing at the VC gasket plug, right? Common center (ground) and two pins each side farthest from the center. Just making sure.
Are you confident the glow plug relay is working correctly? You can jump the two large poles and then try to start and see if that affects performance. One of the large poles should have 12V to it at all times. When you turn the key to "on" the relay should energize for about 2 minutes. Note the wait to start light is on a separate timer and not associated with actual GPR functionality.
