Category: Drivetrain

Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): S2000
Item Condition: IL
Engine: Part suitable for gas truck, Part suitable for diesel truck

Hey guys. Iv got an E4OD that I pulled out of my 1992 F-250 4x4 w/ 460 and 146,000 miles on it. I had a transmission cooler line come off and dump about 7 quarts of tranny fluid on the ground before it finally kicked out of gear and I realized what the problem was. By that time, the damage was done. 1st gear is GONE. You can revv it into the stratosphere and itll maybe wobble forward an inch, but simply wont go. 2nd gear is there but barely. 3rd seemed ok, OD and reverse worked fine. Great start for a HD build. E4ODs are a force to be reckoned with but they oddly wont work without fluid

Transfer case can be included for an additional cost. Worked fine but where the stick connects to the linkage was broke (if that makes sense). Could prolly use a band clamp for a quick fix

Shoot me an offer! I haven't a clue what its worth so any offer will be considered. If no one wants it, its goin to the scrap yard.

I can deliver for a fee. Depends on gas prices at the time

Whoops, sorry, wrong year anyway. Yours wouldn't fit. Yeah, the tranny fluid stays "inside" the tranny bud ! How did ya manage to keep driving when the smell of leaking hot tranny fluid can be smelled a mile away !??? And even "Upwind !" Oh, but now I understand.. . . I totally understand now By you "Revving" your slightly damaged & very expensive E40D Into the "stratosphere" (for whatever your reasoning was, we'll never know !!??),.... Is all I need to know how & WHY you kept driving after the 1st quart of hot tranny fluid leaked out ! Lol !!! Good luck to ya there El-Camino "Man". Sounds like you need ALL you can get. Thanx for the great laugh !

Not sure if your tryin to make me feel bad or trying to get a laugh...

My truck would randomly revv anyways so it wasn't uncommon the day I left my house to feel it revv a few times. It still went so I still drove it. I went about 5 miles before it flat wouldn't go anymore. No smell or smoke was obvious. A glance under the truck made me realize what had happened and by that time, there was nothing I could do. The damage was done. It wasn't my fault, although it could have been prevented by a tighter tranny line. Yes, E4ODs are expensive, but I already had a truck set aside for a manual swap. I just didn't expect to be doing it this quick. The truck still drove for a couple months, just slipped like crazy. Hell, it even pulled my Airstream a few times. It couldn't have been burned up that bad at that time. I still drove it because I didn't have a 2nd vehicle. Whether its slipping or burned up, its going to need the same amount of parts to fix
