Ok, so i installed the isspros last night. Mostly anyway, still need to get the senders in, but the in-cab part is done. Here's the issue I'm having, the potentiometer is all the way up, but when I dim the dash lights past a certain point, the isspros start to flicker, then go out completely at a certain point
Mine does the same thing. I think that is just the way it is. I double checked the way I hooked them up.
For the money spent, I'm hoping that's not the case... That would be very disappointing. But I'm worried you might be right. Even with dash lights all the way up, they still flickered and went out at about the same intensity using the potentiometer.
Why 2 dimmer switches? I would think you would only need one. My past experiences I find that 2 summers tend to confuse the situation possibly causing issues lime you see.
That makes sense. The instructions are to do it that way if I read that right. The idea is to use the potentiometer to sync the intensity, and the oem dimmer controls it all.
Mine flickers when the headlight dimmers are down to a lower setting and as I begin to lower the Isspro potentiometer down to a certain point they flicker. Going down much past that point turns them off. They don't seem to have a full sweep from really low light output going back up to higher with the potentiometer. They seem to be fairly dysfunctional on the lower end.
I thought I had a hot wire going to my gauges that was damaged. My goal was to try and keep the gauge brightness between the Isspro's and the dash equal and I like them both with low illumination. Maybe that's just not what these gauges are capable of.
Its because your truck has "Auto Headlights"..did you get the EV2 with warning LEDs?? if so, you can use the program that sets the warning to correct this..
Mine flickers when the glowplugs are on - dash gauges are a bit dimmer as well. That's how I tell when my glowplugs have shut down on dark morning startups. Flicker stops and dash brightens up.
Boy oh boy... all this talk of problems with ISSPRO lately sure makes me glad I went autometer. Wish Joe was still around to shed some light on these issues. I PM'd him on another forum, but haven't heard back from him yet.

Interesting.
I think I'll wire the dimmers separate and just use the potentiometer for the isspros and not the use the dash dimmer. See if that fixes anything.
And fine Cody, I'll solder and heat wrap them. Need a heat gun anyway...
