Remote starter problems?
Hey guys, my parents have an 07 f150 with remote start and for some reason it will not work, it locks the doors and turns the key on but it doesnt turn the engine over, we brought it to a local dealership and they just unplugged it and plugged it back in and it started working... but later down the road, like 150 kilometers my mom got out to go shopping and it wouldn't work again, does this mean the whole module has to be replaced or is there a quick fix to this, it looks like the stock ford remote start but it has a separate keychain for the button, if it has to be fixed does someone have some instructions on how to do it?

I don't have one but one question comes up: if unplugging and replugging restored it to operation, might it have been due to corrosion in the plug? If you know what was unplugged and replugged, I'd be tempted to get some contact cleaner, unplug it and spray those contacts and see if it starts working again.

I agree with HCBPH, Bad connections happen. After cleaning if that seems to be your problem you may want to apply some "light bulb grease" that will help keep the moisture out I also have a 2007 and have been having issues with my alarm giving false alarms so I have been doing the research thing. Does their truck have a hood switch?? (should be mounted next to one hinge) it can cause problems if not aimed correctly. I do not have one. Thats all I have for you
