TPMS (EZ Sensor)

Hey guys im not sure where the heck to ask this, but Ill ask here. I recently came across 4 EZ sensors that replace the band or OEM Valve Stem TPMS Sensors.

I would like to activate them to a certain vehicle now while I am working at a shop that has the little remote that will activate them.
But, the tires I want to put these sensors in are 2 hours away at my rents place for storage for the winter.

I am wondering do they run off of a battery inside? or do they run off a chip that gets programmed to the vehicle once the truck is set into TPMS Learning Mode?

My main concern is, if I activate them now, if they do run off a battery, will the battery die out cuz they are activated? or would it have to be working with the truck for the sensor battery to be used.

TPMS batteries "should" last 6-10 years . They do have a battery that powers them . Shelf life ??? Many stories there . VDO makes one claim , Ect .They suposidly only report every so often . If in storage they go in sleep mode . Find a tire shop you trust and do more research . Good luck !

Good advice , But ( there is always a butt in the crowd ) there are some aftermarket OEM producers in the market now . They made the OE units , now they offer them "after market " Look into it . Cheaper , OE Quality .

Ill look into it. Won't be needing anything like that for a while though. I still have plenty of warranty. Would the tpms sensors be covered under the powertrain warranty or the regular 3/36.

I am not aware of the warranty on TPMS . There are a lot or factors involved that can damage them . Good question , I will look into that .
