Battery Dilemma

So, I got in my truck this morning and the familiar slow crank and then the tick. Ya, the battery is dead. The problem is, the parts department is closed today and considering the factory battery has been in my '05 since it left the factory, I want another Ford battery. I need my truck for work but won't be able to get a battery before I start work. I've never had another battery last more than 2 years in this Arizona heat. Anyone had luck with an aftermarket battery that you can get at an auto store so I can go to work tomorrow and not waste money on a crappy battery?

Battery problems

I also live in the Valley area but find if a battery lasts more then 3 years I'm on borrowed time.I've had good luck with Autozone yellow top batteries. Many opinions as which battery is best but with the heat check it and try to replace it before the warrenty is up.
Good luck.

While im DEFINATELY NOT a fan of Autozone, they have 2 products that I will buy from them...batteries,and oil.
Ive had many cars with AZ Batteries in them, and only one failure in about 12 years. They replaced it no questions asked....
Cant fault you for wanting Motocraft, but AZ will be fine.

If you have an Oreillys Auto parts there, they carry Motorcraft batteries(at least here they do). Good luck.

had great luck with Motorcraft batteries

also a fan of Interstate batteries. I always pick one of them up when it's time to buy a new one.

I paid $120 for one last April that was 850 CCA...over 1,000 HCA. Bigger equals better IMO

The original Motorcraft in my 2002 is still going strong. When it's time is up, no doubt in my mind what I'm getting to replace it. Another Motorcraft!

Batteries

I've had good luck with both Interstate and Diehard Gold batteries. We don't have your heat but we get winter cold and they've lived through that very well.

Hey everyone, check out this site.
http://batteryfaq.com/

You will see that Johnson Controls makes the batteries for: Sears Diehard, Autozone Duralast, Wallmarts Everstart, MOTOCRAFT and Optima.

I don't know who makes Costcos, Kirkland batteries, but I've had good luck with them.

Back in the '70's, there were only three manufactures of all automotive batterys in the U.S. ESB, Exide and Guild (sp?)

That's why I started buying the Autozone Duralast Gold's, made by Johnson Controls. The one in my Ranger is over 8.5 years old now.

We had a similar post awhile back over in the Expedition forum. Interstate batteries are also made by Johnson Controls. Obviously a business committed to manufacturing a quality product with many brand names attatched to the cases.

Advance Auto Parts batteries are also made by Johnson Controls. I know that won't help those western state folks, but east of the Mississippi it'll help.

Just because they are all made at johnson controls doesn't mean that they are all made to the same spec.
