Glow Plug Voltage?

Hey guys. Since the cold hit. My truck will not start in the mornings. Unless i plug it in over night then it starts like brand new. last week i put all new motorcraft glow plugs in. it had burnt out autolights in it before. that didnt seem to help much. i hooked up a test light and seen each plug is getting volts when i turn them on. Does any one know the voltage they run off? so i can check if they are getting enough. Is there any other way to test the gp controller? any input would help, thanks.

GP voltage should roughly be battery voltage, minus whatever losses come from the small wires powering it, probably drops to roughly 10v, but thats just a rough guess.
turning them on should be enough to make a visible difference in terms of dimming the lights
i suspect your problem may not be in the plugs, but in the fuel system somewhere

i take it they are ok. i have 12.6v at each plug when i turn them on. i also checked fuel pressure. i have 7 psi when cranking.

there is a wire coming off the fuel line before the filter into the harness. any idea what that is? and there is a sensor right below the upper radiator hose on the block. any no what that is?

i have 180ml of fuel in 10 sec. crank. which is .38 pints. so thats good. more than 1/3 pint. so im think air is getting in somewhere

The sensor by the upper rad hose is the temperature sensor for the cold timing advance and the high idle

I'm going to let the truck sit from Saturday night to Sunday evening and then take the fuel filter off and check if its full or not.
