Unhappy glow plug problem

I have an '88 with a 7.3. The glow plug cycle when cold has dropped from about 12 seconds to about 5. The glow plugs all check good with an ohmeter. I've checked and cleaned all the ground wires. Tried a different controller, made no difference. Haven't checked the voltage at each plug but all are getting juice when the controller is kicked in. The overall condition of the wiring harness looks good. Any suggestions?

glow plug problem

just checking but did you check each plug individually? You know connecting a test light to the plug itself and the little clip on the positive battery terminal and if it is good it will light up. just checking

glow plug problem

The first thing I did was check the glow plugs with a test light. All checked ok so I rechecked them with an ohm meter. One was weak compared to the others so I changed it. No change in the time the circuit stayed on.

glow plug problem

I would check the Glowplug Controller and see if that is the problem. Just one or even two plug that are weak would not couse this problem If I was a betting man That is what I would bet on.
