Thanks for the offer, I am currently in Russia working so can't make it this week. lol
I have some friends that I hang out with in Dubai from SA, just not sure where exactly they are from maybe the Cape Town area? But greats friends not the less.
An old Army buddy of mine is living in Kuwait right now. He seems to like it.
Thanks for the compliments, guys. I need the weather to even out. Either get cold and stay cold, or get warm and stay warm. This back and forth crap has my back screaming at me. I felt like I was gonna break in half today.
I may lock myself in the shop on Jan. 1st and crank the heat up and see if I can get something done.
Ok, let's keep this thread on track. Look! I have a PAIR of radius arms now! It took me 10 1/2 hours to build the first one. I should only have about 8 hours in the second one. It went a lot faster since I was copying one, I already had the mill set up and knew how to do everything already.
This is six hours in. I should have all the welds cleaned up and the edges smoothed out in a couple more hours.
Nice! I was amazed at how nice the welded brackets for my steering stabilizer and emergency brake were......this stuff you can do is a whole new category of good.
Thanks, Jeff. I guess I'm just tired of paying too much money for crap, China made parts. I use better steel and actually care about what I'm doing. These radius arms will look like jewelry after finish cleaning them and give them a coat of paint.
That is actually pretty close to what I'm aiming for. Both doors will open on this one and the back will be shaped a little different. My dad said he wanted a spot in back he could put his scooter in when he goes shopping. The rear door will fold down into a ramp so he can just drive the scooter in the back without having a problem.
Hello and good morning Alan.
I can only imagine the look on people's faces when your Father drops the ramp, enters the C-Cab and then drives away!
The C-Cab is looking better and better as you progress with the project.
Lee. Yeah, I saw them. That's the fiberglass body you can buy to build one of these. If I didn't fab one out of steel, I would've bought that body. I like the way they look.
Whoooa, duuude that thing is waaay RAAAD! I am chomping at the bit looking forward to seeing this baby get done!
Lol, me too!
Here's the radius arm mounts on the passenger side. I got the new radius arm bushings today, so it's starting to near the end of the road on suspension fabrication.
I FINALLY got some progress to report on this one. I finished up the front suspension today.
This is a giant hurdle to have behind me now.
You can see how I did the track arm in the last two. I played around with flexing the suspension when I was done and everything works the way it should. It actually articulates REALLY well for a street rod. It has more travel and flex than most cars do.
