You can't be sure it is the motor until you test it. Either way, you have to open the gate, take off the access panels, and un bolt the window from the lifting arm. Then it will slide right out. Oh yeah, and the weather stripping has to come off too. Once it's out, check for power...
You can't put the window up without the guts working properly. Well, you CAN, but I just can't let a Bronco drive around with duct tape all over the place and be able to sleep at night, so you're not going to get THAT advice from me.
Just take the top off for now - you won't need the window that way!
Can you hear the motor running? If not there is a contact switch on the top left side of the gate. This keeps the window from opening unless the gate is shut.Check for power at the switch and at the motor. If you can hear the motor running one of the nylon sliders in the window channel may be broke or stuck.
WAIT
Check the switch that tells the motor if the tailgate is shut all of the way. I thought mine went out and got ****** of and slammed the gate shut and sure enough something was jammed and came free and the window worked.
Hi everyone. Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I got my back window out by drilling 4 holes i my tailgate and cutting off the bolts in the window and pulling out the window and rplaceing the motor. All works great.
