Ok, guys I did a search and didn't find any thing pertaining to this particular question. For the first time, I got into the Bronco and pushed the 4wd button and nothing, nada, zip....no indicator, just the sounds of relays clicking from the passenger kick panel. I haven't checked the shift motor yet because I am concerned by the signs of moisture I found behind the kick panel. Seems I have a windshield seal leaking down into that area. My question is this....I see a red LED on the edge of the module. I have pushed the button several times and the LED never glows. Should it? If so then I think I have found the problem, if not, I'll keep looking, maybe try checking the shift motor.
I have the article and will be reading through it in its entirety shortly. I just KNOW I had water get near enough to the module that I figured the possibility existed that something shorted. Glad to know that you have never seen the LED lit. Thanks Steve.
that led is used for test. what you do is unplug the two bottom harnesses on the module and press that white switch and if the led glows then the control module is bad and if it blinks tthen it is good. that is what i was told by a buddy at ford good luck. and by the way that module is over $800 new from ford good luck!
