New Member light problem
I recently purchased a 1987 reg cab f250 4x4 straight six 4-speed. I'm liking the truck so far and it is my fifth ford I have owned. I'm trying to figure out an electrical problem and was curious to see if anyone had any ideas. I have no front parking lights and no front turn signals. Headlights work fine and taillights all function as they should. I cut all the old trailer wiring out and made sure the stock wiring was all there. With the lights off, the front signals flash, but the parking light side of the light flash, not the bright side of the bulb. With the lights on, the same thing happens on the front, but they flash opposite of the rear lights. All fuses are In place and good and have new bulbs in the front sockets. I even unplugged the rear lights to make sure there was nothing interfering and still had the problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I'm about to start chasing wires and about to hit the pick and pull for some different parts.
The reason the turn signal is lighting the running light filament is there is no ground,,, The flashing opposite of the rear is another clue!!
Welcome to FTE!!!
Sure enough. The ground terminal inside the light socket was rusted over. I tried to clean it and bend it back into place and it broke off. Next stop autozone for some new light sockets. Thank you so much for your help! I'm sure this wont be the last thing I ask about!!
