Noise before starting??

Noise before starting??
Hello,
I have an 01 7.3 diesel. When I turn the key on (before i turn the engine over) I hear a loud grawling noise coming from under the hood. Maybe has something to do with the glow plugs?
It does it 100% of the time, every time I turn the key on. I'll turn the key on, wait a second, hear a weird grawling noise from under the hood, then wait another second and the glowplug light goes off. I then start up with no problems. What could this be? The truck starts and runs fine, but I sure would like to know what the noise is. My previous truck, 00 7.3, did not do this.
