hi everyone, i gotta pick up an oil pump for the 351w im building, whats the deal with stock replacment, high volume, and high pressure? what would you recomend?
for any stock crank/stock block application, stick with the standard volume pump.
high volume and high pressure pumps cause excess wear on the cam gear, and can suck the stock pan dry if the rpms stay too high for too long. windsors have EXCELLENT oiling from the factory. there is no need to do it. youll just lose hp. your internals wont be any slicker for it. save the high volume pumps for the chevies.
