I have a 2004 ford f350 6.0 4x4 manual transmission. I just got the truck about a month ago. I got it from and aution and was not able to drive it because there was no radiator. I just got done putting the radiator in and filling up the tranny with fulid. I tried to drive the truck and the transmission is all messed up. Some times it goes into to gear and some times it gets stuck in gear and will not come out I have to stall the truck out Sometimes it grinds and sometimes it dont . I can feel R L 1 2 and 5 when it is shifting but I can not feel 3 or 4 at all.

 

Sounds like a tranny rebuild to me. Grinding is not a good thing.

No, I won't. This is a manual trans. My expertise is in automatic transmissions. The only thing automatics and manuals have in common is the word "transmission."

 

Anyone know where I can find a rebuild kit for it

 

Slave Cylinder have fluid???


The Last Manual trans that I fixed 2 weeks ago would grind going into gear and it was a Messed up Pressure Plate it was NOT FORD Product

 

Is the Clutch Bad???


there should be an Inspection Cover you can Look into Bell Housing Area

 

Blade how and where do I check the fuild for the slave cylinder

 

theres another fluid reservoir IIRC by the master brake cylinder

power steer

hydro boost

slave cylinder

My mistake, my old brain missed the manual tranny part. Besides cltch or slave it could also be synchros.

 

Slave has fulid and I can not find an inspection platefor the clutch

 

On my Auto trans there a Rubber Deal you pull off bell house I assumed it was for inspection

I never opened it

The rubber was at bell house on the Bottom Kinda

See the Square Lines kinda like a Checker board on the trans that goes to the Round Line keep looking towards you some right in Middle there looks like This Long Oval shaped rubber plug

Right inbetween them 2 Bolts

 

thats Auto trans so IDK Manual might be Diff IDK

I would think there has to be Inspection Plate no matter the Type trans


Maybe one of the Techs will be along to tell me I am Wrong to IDK

Maybe your Slave Cylinder is Bad IDK how to test it yet
