Which Tru Trac do I need?
Hi all. I have an '05 F250 with an aging factory LS rear end that is starting to slip. On a previous truck I had with an open rear end, I installed a Tru Trac and loved it. Now with the clutch type LS rear end, is there a special Tru Trac to order or can I just order by year and model? Also, what is the size of the ring gear in the F250's? Anybody have another brand they like better then a Tru Trac? Thanks in advance for any input.

If anything goes wrong with my LS on either of my Ford trucks, a Detroit Tru Trac is going in!!! I have one in my Chevy 4x4 dually and absolutely love it! Take your VIN and call a Ford dealership parts department and get them to run the VIN to find out what size the rear end is and what ratio it is. I ordered my Tru Trac from Sadler Powertrain off the internet and my Ford tech put it in at his house.

Just order it by whatever your rear axle is....which should be a Sterling 10.5". Gear ratio/size doesn't matter. I got an open box deal from diffsonly.com for less than $400 which included new bearings/races/shims. Love my truetrac. I think it has the best reputation in our trucks.
