cab mounts
ok so ill be replacing my front cab mounts sometime here soon on my 68. so im wondering if screwing the mounts in would hurt the strength of the mounts? i actualy plan on doing a combination of screws, welds and/or rivitas. but i dont trust them.

I would think that if you screwed it in just to keep it from distorting during the welding stage that would be fine but I wouldn't depend on the screws for actual support. What could happen is the metal around the screws will rust then the screws will not have anything to hold onto. Welding is the best idea in my opinion.
