Block Heater Cable

Can someone please help, I have looked all over for the male end of the block heater power cable and can't find it at all. I looked under the truck above the starter to make sure there was a power cable plugged in and there definitely was. I can kind of see where the cable leads to the front of the truck but lose it.

I went to my local Ford dealership to ask them, they said it should be right behind the passenger tow hook if it's there. We were unable to find it. He also pointed out that the cable usually runs along the frame and you can usually see it from the front passenger fender, we were not able to see it zip tied to the frame. I'm thinking that it may be zip tied under somewhere else.

I have looked through several posts and have not found anything pointing out exactly where it might be. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yep, right there on the frame. It clips in on the outside of the frame rail and then the end loops over and you reach in behind the license plate and the end should be back there.

Other than that, somebody could have disconnected the cable at the flat plug and removed the actual electrical plug and left the heater cable. But you should still see the cable.

I'm uploading pics...

Need a good flashlight, it is tied up snug in there. I looked 3 times until I finally found mine.

I think mine just has the flat plug in there and is missing the actual male socket end. Anyone know of Ford sells the socket end?

A 6' cord can be had on Amazon and eBay for under $20. Of course it doesn't come with the nifty harness ties.

The socket end that plugs into an extension cord?

If you are missing the plug you can pick one up at lowes. 15 amp weather proof male.

I forget to unplug mine a few times a year and have to replace the plug

There is a flat connector about 1 foot from the actual electrical connector.

One could just cut that off and adapt a male connector there. Somewhat awkward to reach into the wheel well for the extension cord, but it could work.
