Heater control cable ?
My 1988 f350 (diesel) has a cable controlled defrost , floor -ect selector . The cable that controls this isn't attached to the heater housing . There is a spring steel metal clip that holds the cable to the blower housing and I surmise keeps the cable sleeve from moving during operation . Mine doesn't work (slips ). My other truck has a 460 and the heater system is controlled by vaccum so the system is completely different !
Anyone have a picture of the clip that holds the cable , or a oem diagram ?

I'm not sure I follow you. The plastic sleeve of the cable simply slips into the slot of the clip, just make sure that control is all the way to the left before you place it in the clip. Sorry no pic available, but hopefully some one post one soon.
