I'm pretty sure EFI was an extra-cost option in 1985 and became standard in 1986. But I'm not 100% positive on that and don't have any pertinent reference material to look it up definitively.

The stuff I have says 84 was the last year you could get the 2bbl 302. 85-86 was EFI only on the 302. 85 was the last year you could get the 2bbl 351w.
Reference books can be wrong though... I was 9 in 85 so I can't speak from personal knowledge...
Hey guys that picture I was asking you about is the egr valve. I am gonna remove it tomorrow. I have one more question. I took off my plug wires off my distributer and I need help knowing which wires goes where. And also I do not have a electronic controlled carb, I am so glad of that

I was 22 and have vague memories of it.
Today, I tend to rely on people who now or in the past worked on or with these things for a living unless I can find some sort of definitive and authoritative documentation which has also been known to be wrong.
I suppose I could go look up a carburetor for a 1985 302 in the parts book but I'm too lazy at the moment....
But you're posting an html page in between IMG tags; don't do that, it won't work.
On that Photobucket page... on the RH side... you want the IMG code from the Image Links drop-down list on the right. Copy that code and paste it directly into your post.
You can also edit your existing post here, replace that bad line with a new one.
We also have a Testing forum here on FTE where you can go play around with all this stuff:
If it is a 2bbl you'll probably want to look at a duraspark II conversion (aka DSII or sometimes DS2). And, if you're going that far a true 4bbl manifold. Edelbrock makes a performer with EGR if you have to worry about emissions.
David, just an FYI, early production 85 302s were equipped with a feedback 2bbl. 351 base engines would have the same thing. A 351 HO engine would have the Holley 4180 on it.
302 VIN F = 2 barrel
302 VIN N = EFI
351 VIN G = 2 barrel
351 VIN H = 4 barrel
According to AllData, even the 4 barrel still had the heat control valves, they weren't computer controlled, just thermal vacuum valves. You could probably remove the actuator, but I'm not sure what it would do to overall.
My 2 F250's are HO motors but my 86 was owned by a hack with the mentality "I don't know what this is or what it does - lets remove it..." and my 87 is for plowing and since we haven't really gotten any snow I've probably only driven it 100 miles since I got it. It's got some issue that's causing it to get like 5mpg...
So I've never taken notice to the one on the intake.
