Hello everybody. A squirrel chewed a hole in my fuel line and Ford wants 290 dollars for the new line. Just the part. Does this sound right? Does anybody know where to get one for less? The local auto parts place doesn't have it. 2006 F150 4x4 4.6 Fuel injected. Thanks for any suggestions.
What part of the fuel line got chewed? Also, did the part store say they don't have it or that its dealer only?
In my experience Some of the"help" at the parts stores only do what the computer tells them, so if they were out of stock the"help" may have no idea what to do from there. They either can't or don't want to help find/order the parts for you.
If it is a plastic line you can buy a repair kit at Orilley and other parts stores . They are barbed connectors and plastic line . With a heat gun or hair dryer they are easy to install.
