He brought down a large stack of FREE pallet racking for my storage building! He's gonna make another trip down next month to bring me a FREE Ford 1 ton chassis complete with a good running 6.9 with C-6 and dually rear end. Oh, he said the 6 dually rims have damn near new tires too!
WoooooHoooo! Can you say SCORE!
He's taking back a virgin 350 4 bolt main engine I got for free.....
He is a chebby guy. He gives me all the Ford stuff he finds, and I give him all the chebby stuff I get. Win, win all around!

Morning Charlie! The chassis came from a 1 ton Uhaul van. It was his neighbors van that passed away. The family couldn't find the title and just wanted it gone, so they gave it to him. He just wanted the dry box on the back for storage, so he's giving me the rest! He said the 6.9 runs great and he drove it home.....
With me looking for machine shop equip and tooling, if you were closer we WOULD be making a trade!
Uhauls have an odd wheelbase, ordered like that on purpose. The rear axle is also wider than normal. The transmission is also built to aftermarket specks.Good score
Yeah, I wish I would have been in less of a hurry on the machine shop stuff when putting it in the sheds. I have a mess to sort out before I can even inventory it

Important day for the plant today. We're doing our first heat-up in 2 1/2 years. We're taking her up to 540 degrees, using our reactor coolant pumps. the idea is to check equipment at temperature and pressure, and for the NRC to monitor us during the heat-up phase. We'll stay hot for a few days, doing some testing and monitoring, then cool down this weekend, and make any needed repairs. If all goes, well, in a few weeks, we'll heat up again, on our way to going critical, and then going back online.
