Ranch raised beef is MUCH better than what they sell in the stores around here.

Not really a good practice to have lighting and outlets on the same circuit. Different functions.

The house my folks bought in 1951 had two fuses for the whole house, both 20-amp. One outlet, one lights.

People didn't use so much power back then. Refrigerator, radio (maybe a TV), and the morning use of a toaster.

Remember these? Times sure have changed......

The Manager of the NAPA store here is a buddy of mine, and has been raising beef for the last 50 years. The beef he raises is the best I've ever had. I usually buy 2 halves/year. Makes a nice change to all the FREE ELK I get.....................lol

I can remember my dad stuffing a penny behind one of the those when the last one blew and he didn't want to go to town.

As a result of that practice being commonplace, they devised a one-way screw-in "adapter" that took smaller screw-in fuses that wouldn't let you do that any more:

The adapter:

That's pretty much standard anywhere you go. I do agree that having them separate would be better.

Not too bad in their setup because the circuit with the problem ran the ceiling fans & lights plus the dining room lights. The wall sconces and the loft lights are on the other circuit so if one blows it only takes out half the lighting for the room.
