F-350 is right, but there is two different types of fuel filters that are being used. One filter is made into the cap and the other is separate. The one piece unit will replace the two-piecer, but cost more.
If u still have the original oem cap u can just buy the replacement filters. They are much cheaper than buying the whole new lid assembly with filter attached. Either way keep your original cap if u have one. They are expensive

I prefer the OEM two piece style since that ensures I'll never find myself in a situation where I'll be without a cap. If I were to use the one piece style then it would be a Baldwin unit. You can purchase OEM filters here: Riffraff Diesel: 7.3L OEM Fuel Filter
I usually buy them 4 or 5 at a time so I always have one handy.
Change yours every 15k and you should be good.
Here is a publication on the Baldwin one-piece model. I am not sure where you can purchase them from so someone else will have to jump in with that info.
I have a 1999 7.3 F350. Where is my fuel filter located?
.
It may be very hard to get off. You may have to use a hammer and breaker bar to tap it (around) off, to get it loose. When putting the cap back on, wet the rubber gasket. If the cap does not have a good seal or the gasket is skewed, you will be shooting a lot of fuel all over the place in a matter of seconds. After you get the filter changed, start it up with the hood up andd make sure that there are no leaks. Keep Hands Away From Fan Blade Area. Safety first and always
For $55.00 you can get Wix fuel, air and oil from Filter1 dot com. It comes with the fuel filter with the cover. You can use a socket wrench to unscrew it. It's seems easier than the factory fuel filter cover.

i have yet to find an auto parts store locally, that sells just the fuel filter . I get the 1-piecer from FLEETFILTER.COM, along with a few other filters.
I tried the one piece a couple times. never again. I am glad I kept my cap. by your filters from clay at riffraff and forget about the one pos filters.
Just my .02 for what it is worth.
good luck and happy new year

Before you trash-talk them so badly, maybe you should first consider buying better quality one-piece filters.
I'm not going to stand by and let anyone dissuade people from using a quality piece, without speaking up, just because THEY haven't been able to use it.
I've used the good ones since day one, and have absolutely no trouble with them whatsoever.

Will opening the drain valve a little, to relieve any pressure, make the cap easier to remove.
I know it helps on my home water filter/
