My Truck 3700 ran good up until Christmas, ran rough and I could restart with no problem now its cold and no start. I am sure it wood not start anyhow. Only code is 124 which is ICP out of range low. UVC Harness good, hpop level good, batt terminals clean, new filters/oil. I also unplugged the ICP and still no start. If the upper o-rings on the injectors are blown out woodnt there be other codes?
Get the icp sensor, it cleared up all my issues. Same code I was getting and it cleared mine up straight away. Simple fix as well. Also, look at the sensor and see if there is oil on it or around it.
If it were the ICP sensor it wood start if you disconnected the sensor. As far as the injectors being week I am leaning towards that, and I wood plug the heater in however someone took the cord out. I may just take one out of my 96 psd. I really think it wood not make a difference. For as bad as it was running I could not drive 5 feet and thank the Lord I was just around the corner when it happened. When I was driving it, it got really bad going up a steep hill if that helps any.
You are correct about the ICP, I would think the International PCM likely defaults the same way.
What about fuel pressure/level? Also oil level. Not sure on the design of the tank but you saying you were going up steep hill sounds like a possibility. Fuel issues will also cause issues with the oil side(ICP) readings.
Wood there not be a code for oil or fuel issues? Tank is a 50 gallon saddle with a step on it. It is about 1/2 full. I am building a test gauge tomorrow for the HPOP and fuel psi. If it were a fuel prob then wood having blown injector o-rings cause "just this code alone?''
IF it's fuel related, you will get oil pressure related issues, since the pressures are essentially intensifying nothing.
Blown injector orings generally will cause oil to get into the fuel, since oil pressure is 2000+ and fuel is under 100, evidenced generally as a black fuel filter.
Bad IPR can cause issues like this as well. Did you check the IPR nut?
Ipr would have to be just about falling off. I drove for about 1000 miles with the nut laying in the valley. It would run fine except.it wanted to.die at idle.
i vote for both icp and sticky/dirty ipr.
checked for oil in the connector?
ipr teardown and clean is pretty easy... and free.
if the orings are guffed up then you have a tighter aim on your issue.
ipr rebuild kit: Injection Pressure Regulator Repair Kit
looks like he is out of the kits with new tin nut and washer.

If it were the icp the truck wood start with it unpluged, and if it were the IPR it wood throw codes. Dont mean to sound like a azz but come on if you dont know your stuff please dont throw guesses out there. Thanks for trying tho. Azle is just above Ft.Worth on highway 199.
