Making huge progress!

Hey everybody, i finally put the battery back in tonight and tested the starter but couldnt run b/c i left the keys and gas at home! I can really tell this new engine has compression i'm probably going to have to upgrade my starter somehow(it's original)

back in june my 76 got hit at work by a gooseneck, crunching the pass fender and grille/headlight. boss paid for new inner & outer fenders and paint, new grille shell and bezels/lights. $1200!

Since i had the front end off, i decided i would hurry up on my mercury 390 build and get it put in, but before i did, i cleaned and painted up the firewall, rad-support and inner fenders(ford blue engine paint).

then with a brand new inner fender i decided to put the battery in my rear toolbox using a heavy duty battery case and huge cables. i relocated the solenoid to where the factory ignition module would be; getting rid of lots of extra old worn dangerous wiring.

the whole engine area is completly re-wired since i did the 3g alternator and also have msd ignition. i probably have a laundry basket amount of old wiring i cut out.

i added lots of grounds and junctions and had to put LONG starter and alternator cables from driver to pass side(hope it doesnt bite me lol). since a lot of new cars have batterys in the trunk and use wimpy wire i should be fine with the heavy stuff im using

I think its awesome how it worked out, the only wiring on the pass side is the alternator lead and what goes to the lights, pretty much a bare bright blue inner fender! (where i might be putting my new powerstroke air filter box!)
