window run replacement problem

I'm replacing the window track on my 62 F100. Got the new tracks and felts as a kit from LMC. I have a problem. There is a run inside the door, on the back side (door catch side) that the felt kit fits into which is broken. I can't find a replacement part on LMC or Dennis Carpenter. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where I find a replacement?

I need the driver side. Thanks for the info. If I was a welder I might even be able to repair the old one. Just has the tab that holds the upper nut broken off. Is there any source available for hunting down these esoterica on the web? --- Hate to bog down the forum with what seem like trivial things.

Just dealt with this myself on my '65. Tab wth the nut was broken off. Tack welded it back on, and added a strip of metal along the back forming a triangle so that it will not break again. If you can find someone to weld it, it should take them 5 minutes to fix.

Broken Window Run

Both of mine are broken and I had planned on fabricating a new mount and welding it on the old channel, but thanks to Number Dummy, I ordered both this morning from Green Sales Co. The right side was $10 and the drivers side was $15. Thank You Bill.

To update on my window saga.... I drove the 15 miles to Sanderson Ford in the Phoenix area, after attempting for 2 days to get someone on the phone who could verify the info ND provided. The "nice young man" in the specialty parts department assured me that they indeed did NOT have that part though his computer was down for the day. He wasn't interested in the part number ND had provided, just knew exactly what I wanted. He was certain that he could order it for me when once his computer began working at some uncertain date in the future. I'm not a big fan of Sanderson parts dept! So instead of ordering from the other sources I found a great semi-retired welder less than a mile from where I live who repaired it in less than ten minutes for 10 bucks. The window is installed, works perfectly and I'm ready to move on to the other side, dash lights, broken wiper motor and broken horn.

What an IDIOT! Sanderson has a parts warehouse located nearby that they have a gazillion obsolete parts stored in.

Coupla years ago, a pal of mine needed a D6TZ-16103-A ~ left front fender splash shield for his 1978 F150. Sanderson had several.

I called, grumpy parts guy said "I gotta check the warehouse" call me back in 30 minutes. I did and they had it.

And...according to Sanderson's website, as of January 7, 2013, they have one C1TZ-81222A01-A IN STOCK!

Thanks for the advice. It was quite a learning experience. I suspect I will find that in most instances, talking to fellow enthusiasts and going outside the mainstream will be the most useful route. The truck is running great, I'm driving it to work once or twice a week and having fun. ----- To change topics - and maybe I should start another thread --- what are people's thoughts on security? Am I likely to have to worry about my truck getting stolen out of a parking lot someday? I have a Club on the steering wheel. I have heard people mention hidden kill switches, cut off switches on gas lines. It is hard enough to get started on a cold morning that I think it would be frustrating for people to try to hot wire and drive away, so I'm tempted to think it's too much trouble for people to steal. Any thoughts?
