Capover camper

I have recently purchased a 99 SD F250, ext. cab & long bed.
I have ordered a new Lance Capover camper, model #835. Max dry wieght is suppose to be around 2040Lbs.

Question:
Has anyone loaded this type of camper?
How well does it ride?
Are Air Lifts needed?

You are going to need some type of spring helpers in the rear for that much weight. I'd suggest Firestones Ride Rite Air bags. Also make sure you have a good tranny cooler.

Okay, thanks a lot.

I failed to mention in my above post the the truck is a 4x4 and has a towing package if that makes a difference.

The camper dealer says to wait and see how the rig rides, but from everything I've read it does look like I should plan on a set of Air Lift Bags.

Pros & Cons of Firestone Ride-Rite vs Air Lift???
Both look like the same product.

Your going to be overweight for the 8800 lb GVWR of your truck. My truck weighs about 6500. Yours will be a little heavier with 4x4. Not a big deal since it is the same truck as the F350 but if you get into a situation where you have to weigh... certain US states or Canada, it may cause you some problems. Just something to think about.
