Ive got an 01 F350 gas and an 08 F250 diesel. Neither of them turn on the interior cab lights when you unlock the doors or open them. They will come on if i hit the button on the lamp though. Both trucks are like this. Is it a SD thing, or am i missing something?
They should come on with the door opening. Unless something
has been changed. Maybe the 08 can be programed not to.
But the 01 should just be a switch in the door. Does the 08
radio stay on after you turn it off and not open the door and
then turn off when you open the door?
Yep the radio stays on in the 08. I was able to change wether or not the doors would auto lock or not in the in dash set up deal but nothing about the dome lights. Not sure what the heck..
Sometimes the sensor can stick, is there a door ajar light that comes on when the door is open? Some have had luck by spraying out the door latch with WD40.
There are usually 3 bulbs in the dome lamp. Two spots (on the ends--controlled by the 2 switches in the lamp) and 1 center bulb (that's the dome lamp bulb). Have you checked that center bulb in either truck ???
I didnt realize there were 3 lamps up there until today. I never looked because the to outside units worked fine. Turnes out the lamp was burned out. Works fine with new bulb. I feel stupid now. Thanks for your help fellas.
